Endorsement of Steve Kubby [2008]
I, Michael William Blessing, hereby endorse Steve Kubby for the Libertarian Party‘s presidential nomination, and for President of the United States of America. Of all of the available candidates, Kubby is simply the best of the bunch.Kubby has an excellent grasp of libertarian principles, is well-known as an activist for liberty, both in the Libertarian Party and in working with larger groups and coalitions, and has made a name for himself as a writer and communicator for his principles.
On top of that, Kubby has personally faced down America’s ever-growing police state in his battles for re-legalizing medical marijuana. At present, he’s not being incarcerated for his “crimes” (really the crimes of the Washington DC crowd), so he’s free to “move about the country,” as the adverts for Southwest Airlines say.
In Steve’s own words –
Let me speak plainly to you: I am not a conservative
fighting for “federalism” or “states rights.” I am not a liberal
fighting for “the greatest good for the greatest number.” I am not a
used car salesman, peddling a version of freedom with sawdust in its
transmission and a radiator full of stop-leak, hoping to keep the
engine running long enough to get myself on TV a few times.I am a Libertarian, and I’m damn proud of it. I’m running for president because I believe in 80-proof, straight up, gut-burning
freedom. If you prefer the wine cooler or lite beer version, I’m not
your man.Click on the following links for more about Steve and his campaign — kubby.com and kubby2008.com.
